Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-10-01. Jex is a product of jtao.ai. Questions: support@getjex.dev.
The service
Jex is a text-classification API: train your own classifier from labelled examples ("Mode 2"), classify instantly from label names alone ("Mode 1"), or use a ready-made classifier. By creating or using an API key, you agree to these terms.
Your account and key
- Keep your API key confidential; you're responsible for activity under it. Tell us right away if a key is compromised and we'll rotate it.
- We may suspend a key that violates the Acceptable Use Policy, abuses rate limits, or doesn't pay.
- Free-tier accounts are limited as published in the docs (currently 10,000 classify texts/month, 3 classifiers) and may require a card on file as an abuse guard.
Your data
- You keep all rights to the examples and text you submit, and to the classifiers you train.
- You confirm you have the right to submit any text and labels you send us, and that doing so doesn't violate a third party's rights or any law.
- Full detail on what we store, for how long, and what we never do: the Privacy Policy.
Billing
- Paid usage is billed per the published pricing (see pricing and docs): instant classify, ready-made/custom-trained classify, training, and second opinion (opt-in) are metered and billed separately.
- We keep billing and invoice records for as long as applicable law requires, even after you delete your account or data.
- Non-payment or a failed payment may result in your key being suspended until resolved.
Service level
We aim for high availability but make no uptime guarantee at this stage. We'll tell you about planned maintenance when we can. The docs describe error behavior and rate limits.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms; we'll change the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, try to notify active customers. You may stop using Jex and delete your data at any time. We may terminate a key for violating these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
Disclaimer and liability
Jex is provided "as is." Classification results are probabilistic and can be wrong; don't rely on them for decisions where an error would cause serious harm (e.g. safety, legal, or medical decisions) without human review. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the preceding 3 months.
