Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account data: the owner name/email you give us when a key is issued, and your plan.
• Training examples (Mode 2, "train your own"): the text and labels you submit to train a classifier.
• Classification texts: the text you send to /v1/classify or a classifier's /classify endpoint.
• Usage: call counts, timestamps, and billing-relevant metadata (text counts, not text content) per key.

What we never do

• Classification texts are not stored. A call to classify is processed and the text is discarded; it is never written to disk.
• Your examples train your classifier only. They are never used to train another customer's model, a shared model, or any model we offer to anyone else.
• Instant mode (no training examples) sends only your label names and descriptions to our synthetic-example generator -- never your classification text, unless you opt in to second opinion (below).

Second opinion (opt-in only)

By default, no text you send to Jex ever leaves our infrastructure to a third party. If you explicitly set second_opinion: true on an instant-mode /v1/classify call, the specific texts that call is least confident about (not your whole batch) are sent to DeepSeek, an open-weight model, through our inference gateway (Engy), for a second look. This only happens on instant-mode calls, only on the texts actually checked, and only when you turn it on. We do not control DeepSeek's own retention policy for API requests it receives through our gateway; we send the minimum text needed for the classification and do not send any other account or request metadata.

Retention

• Training examples: discarded immediately after training finishes, unless you set keep_data: true, in which case they are kept alongside the model until you delete it.
• Classification texts: never stored, regardless of mode.
• A trained classifier unused for 100 days (across all its calls) is automatically deleted, along with any kept examples and its report. You can delete it sooner at any time.
• Usage/billing records (call counts and amounts, not text content) are kept for as long as applicable law requires for financial and tax records.
• Request logs (for debugging and abuse prevention) are kept no longer than 100 days.

Your controls

• Delete any classifier at any time with DELETE /v1/classifiers/{id}; you get a deletion receipt confirming what was removed.
• Export your classifier's weights at any time with GET /v1/classifiers/{id}/export.
• Ask us at support@getjex.dev to delete your account and all associated data sooner than the automatic retention period.

Who can see your data

A key sees only the classifiers it created; no other customer can read or call them (enforced in code, not just policy). jtao.ai staff access account and usage data only to operate and support the service.

Changes

We'll update the "last updated" date above when this policy changes, and we won't make a change that lets us do less than we promise today without telling you first.
